ABOUT US:
We, Evan and Josh Wong, are brothers and content creators born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. We previously created the "Giantsrocdaworld" Youtube channel and Instagram page to showcase our passion for the cultural arts of lion dance and dragon dance. Over the years, we have expanded and our passions have grown. We have a passion for both supporting our community, and videography and photography, which has been passed down to us by our father. Our goal is to support the community and promote our AAPI culture through our videography and photography. At the same time, we aim to honor past generations and inspire future generations. In addition to documenting community events, we are now documenting private event celebrations such as grand openings, birthdays, retirements, graduation parties, corporate/business events, etc.
In 2009, we created our first Youtube channel and our first Instagram page in 2014 both called “giantsrocdaworld.” At first, these accounts were focused on the cultural arts of lion dance, dragon dance and martial arts. Our interest in these cultural arts began at a very young age thanks to our grandparents, father and uncle. Our family members even called us “the lion dance boys” as we performed for family events (sounds better in Taishan 🙂). Later, we formally joined martial arts schools, becoming members of the same schools that we enjoyed watching, and performing for more special family celebrations.
Over the years, we have expanded and created content across various social media platforms, but our “giantsrocdaworld” brand remains a constant. In 2019, we received the Youtube Creator Award for surpassing 100K subscribers. Today, “giantsrocdaworld” aka “GRDW” continues to showcase our life-long passion for these cultural arts, serves as a bridge to our AAPI culture and as a reminder to our humble beginnings.
What is “giantsrocdaworld”
aka “GRDW”?
